Captains Meetings: Fri, May 23

The KVKL will hold its annual pre-seaon captains meeting on Friday evening, May 23rd.  The meeting will be held in the same location as last year, the meeting room on the main floor of the Lawrence Public Library.  A new wrinkle this year will be that captains of teams new to the league will meet first, at 6:30, then returning captains will meet at 7pm.  This is being done to address the differentsneeds,…

The equipment freighter has docked......

To whom it may concern, The new balls have arrived.  We have two colors, Orange and Yellow.  KVKL is selling them 1 for $10.00, 2 for $15.00, or 3 for $20.00.  This ball seems to carry a bit more than the one we used last year (it has been windy....).  Please call/text 785.766.9779or e-mail gradually@hotmail.com to get yours for the coming season.  We also…

A Message from New Commissioner Phil Mitchell

My fellow kickballers,

I'd like to welcome everyone to what is sure to be another glorious year of all that is Lawrence kickball. Like many of you, I have watched the level of passion, commitment, skill, and organization within our little league continue to grow year after year. Ever since the first kickball game in which I participated, I have always been impressed…

Farewell Address from Commissioner Josh Hunt

Hello Kickball Comrades, Although it may not feel like it today, kickball weather is just around the corner and we in the kickball council are wasting no time getting the year off to an early start. There are many new and exciting things happening not the least of which is a new commissioner! Last year when Kelly handed us the reigns we unanimously voted in place a system that…

Last year's captains are encouraged to submit rosters by April 1.…

Commissioner Calls for Cooler Heads

Hello Kaw Kickball Community,

First off, I would like to say that this year has been a great time so far. The new scheduling system seems to have made for a lot of highly contested matches, the game of the week at Hobbs has been getting bigger every week and the new equipment seems to be working out well. This week at Hobbs Sunday Night Lights…

Halfway Point Marked by Tight Finishes

With the completion of week 5, we're halfway done with the 2007 regular season. If the second half of the year is anything like the first, we're in for a treat. Greater parity among the teams and a brilliantly-designed schedule have given us some tight match-ups and numerous exciting finishes, including 6 games in week 5 dicided by a single run.

I…
