2020 KVKL Season

It pains us to announce that the 2020 season of KVKL will not be taking place this year. We appreciate your timely response and feedback from your teams, but ultimately we had to consider the safety of players, refs, and spectators involved in the league. No matter how we looked at the possible outcome of having a season, we couldn’t justify placing the importance of a game over the safety of our community. While we’re all heartbroken that we won’t have a sanctioned season this year full of Game of the Week, Podcasts, and Afterparty at the Replay, we’ve decided to refocus our efforts on healing our community in as many ways as we can during this time of crisis.

The board understands that the one thing that sets us apart as a league is the chorus of members and local businesses that make us the unique group that we are. That’s why we plan to spotlight teams and the businesses within those teams that have made this such a supportive place to gather and play our favorite sport. Even if we can’t be together in person, please join us online to get to know other folks in your league and how they add substance to this community.

That being said, we have a lot of other charitable projects we hope to enact this year, and we’d love to have your help and your ideas. If you’re interested in being a part of this, please join us on the Charity Committee on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/groups/160983297389645/ or email your commissioners Jana and Staci.

We’re so sad yet another of our favorite events has had to be cancelled in 2020. It was a really hard decision none of us were hoping to make. But we also know many of you are facing much tougher decisions in your own lives right now. We want to be there for you through this. Please reach out with questions, comments, and suggestions on how to make this year better for you. We hope to see and hear from you much sooner than our following season in 2021.

All our best,
The KVKL Board
