Hello Kickballers!
Get ready to lace up your cleats and perfect your bunts because the Kaw Valley Kickball 2026 season is officially upon us! We’re beyond excited to welcome you back for another year of raucous fun, friendly competition, and community spirit.
We’re excited to announce your 2026 season Co-Commissioners: Shawn Meredith and Derek Davis! They’re ready to lead us through another fantastic season.
We would like to take a moment to thank our exiting board members for their efforts and in some cases, many years of hard work and dedication, they include Katie Keating, Kal McClure, Clint Curtiss, Elizabeth Karr and Sean Donnelly. We’re equally as excited to share that we have many new board members joing us this season, including Jeff Boeve, Rylie Koester, Brandt Radke, Brooks Robertson and Travis Tozer! A big thank you is also in order to Avery Brow and Mike Zubelewicz for their continued dedication to the KVKL Board.
We are still looking for and open to all suggestions for the 2026 charities that we will be supporting. Please continue to nominate local charities and causes via the Facebook group page or to the board email:
As a reminder, for the 2025 season, we chose two main charities to sponsor with our fundraising efforts:
- Lawrence Pride ($6,500)
- Willow Domestic Violence Center ($6,500)
We were able to raise $20,060 total in 2025 and look to continue to raise the bar higher with the help of you, the KVKL Community!
We’re also looking to keep KVKL involved in local summer events like the Lawrence Pride parade, Juneteenth festival and Buskerfest. So, be on the lookout throughout the summer for volunteer opportunities and sign-ups for these awesome events.
We all hope you stayed ready for some epic community giving, kickball action, new friendships, and another summer of friendly competition!

As we prepare for the 2026 season, we want to share an update regarding our registration fees and the steps we are taking to manage rising operational costs.
The registration rates for the upcoming season are as follows:
- Returning Teams: $450
- Returning Teams (with Name Change): $475
- New Team Registration: $475
This year, KVKL faced challenging negotiations regarding field rental costs. Rather than passing the full weight of these increases on to our teams and players, we are committed to offsetting expenses through aggressive sponsorship procurement and fundraising efforts.
While we expect the cost of local facilities to continue on an upward trend in the coming years, our goal remains to provide a high-quality experience while remaining as cost-effective as possible for our community.

- April 12th: Pool Tournament Hosted by Empire Bar & Billiards (Benefitting The Care Center)
- Spring Charity Tournament: April 26th (CHARITY TBD)
- Captain’s Meeting/Ref Clinic: May 3rd
- First Game of the Season: May 10th
- Kickball Is For All Clinic: June 13th
- Fourth of July Weekend (July 5th): No kickball! Enjoy the holiday weekend!
- Playoffs (Pending Rainouts): July 26th & August 2nd
- Championship Games (pending rainouts): August 9th
- Charity Auction and End-of-Season Party: September 13th/20th (TBD)

If your team has a new captain(s) or co-captain(s) this year, please be sure to forward them all this useful information. Also, make sure to e-mail the board all transferral of team ownership requirements when new captains are taking over a team.
